Frequently asked questions
Is my data really private?
Yes. Zoya has no account and no cloud sync — your logs, cycle history, and pregnancy data are stored only on your device. Ask Zoya questions are processed anonymously.
Is Zoya a contraceptive?
No. Zoya is a tracking and educational tool, not a method of contraception or a medical device. Use a doctor-recommended method of contraception if you don't wish to conceive.
Do I need an account?
No. Zoya works fully without an account or sign-up — there's nothing to register and nothing tied to your identity.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If you've set up an encrypted backup, you can restore your data on a new device using your own backup key. Without a backup, on-device data can't be recovered — that's the trade-off of never sending it to a server.
Who writes the medical content?
Dr. Saima Gulnaz, MBBS, FCPS, Consultant Gynaecologist, and a panel of five practicing gynaecologists write and clinically review every symptom list, week-by-week guide, and Ask Zoya answer.
Do unanswered questions get stored?
Questions Zoya can't answer are kept anonymously — never linked to you — so our doctors can add the missing answers.
